During our initial site visit, the client joked that the only thing that this basement is good for would be an indoor duck pond!
This beautiful Victorian house in Billericay, Essex had the basement door firmly shut for over 3 years since the property was purchased because it constantly had at least 12 inches of water sitting on the floor.
The challenge for the skilled and experienced staff from AP Gooch was to remove several tonnes of mud and bricks from the existing floor to allow for a new concrete slab.
Once the concrete floor was completed, the installation of the internal cavity membrane, supplied by ULTRA Membrane Systems, could begin.
Ultra drainage channel was installed along with an Ultra twin sump and pump station which removes any groundwater entering the basement – the result is a clean, dry, habitable basement which was achieved in just 6 days.
